I think I might have discovered where I was going wrong when trying to set up Adsense on this blog. I think this is the solution to the problem:
What you need to do once you have set-up your blog on Blogger is to ensure that your blog is set up on your Adsense and Analytics pages.
It also makes sense to use the Search-Console and submit your sitemap-pages.xml so Google will crawl and index your site.
Then make sure you have your Adsense account open when going into your blog's "Earnings" settings. It should then just be a case of pressing the button on the Blogger setting in front of you, and hey-presto Adsense will do its thing.
